Give the French for visit, museum and coast.
visite (f), musée (m) and côte (f).
musée is masculine although it ends in -ée. côte needs its circumflex, because without it the word means something else.

What happens to le or la in front of a singular noun that begins with a vowel?
Both shorten to l': l'argent for a masculine noun and l'école for a feminine one. The apostrophe replaces the vowel of the article.
The gender does not disappear with the article, so any adjective still has to agree: l'école est grande. Only the singular shortens; the plural stays les écoles.
What is the difference between les informations and l'information?
les informations (fpl) means the news; l'information (f) in the singular is a piece of information.
The plural is what a television news bulletin is called. Both forms are feminine, so number alone carries the difference.
