We collect the minimum we need, store it in the UK, never sell it, and never use it to train AI models.
01Plain-English summary
BrainBerry is built for GCSE & A-Level students. We take your data seriously.
Short version: we store only what we need to run the app, we never sell it, your notes and decks are never used to train AI models, and you can export or delete everything any time.
02What we collect
Account: your email, name, year group, and exam board (so we tune content to your spec).
Activity: the cards you study, your answers, your streaks and coins — used to show you your own progress and to build aggregate (non-identifiable) product analytics.
Device: standard logs (browser, IP, time of request) for security and abuse prevention. We retain logs for 30 days.
03What we do with it
Run BrainBerry — sync your decks across devices, show your progress, run Class Mode games.
Improve BrainBerry — anonymous, aggregated patterns help us decide what to build next.
Contact you — only about the launch and major product updates. You can opt out of every email except security notices.
04What we never do
We never sell your data. Full stop.
We never use your notes, decks or answers to train AI models — yours or any third party's.
We never share data with advertisers. There are no ads on BrainBerry.
We never share your data with anyone without your explicit consent.
05Where it lives
All BrainBerry data is stored on UK servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Sync between devices is end-to-end encrypted.
06Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can: access your data, correct it, export it (Settings → Export), delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete), or restrict processing.
We respond to data requests within 30 days. Email privacy@brainberry.io with any question.
07Children
BrainBerry is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you're under 13 we ask you not to create an account; if you do and we find out, we delete it.
If you're a parent or guardian and want a child's account removed, email privacy@brainberry.io and we'll do it within 7 days.
08Cookies
We use a minimum of strictly-necessary cookies (session, security, preference). We don't use advertising cookies. We don't use third-party trackers on our marketing site beyond a privacy-respecting analytics tool that doesn't set cookies.
09Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll email registered users at least 30 days in advance.
